Ghana is looking for its way to get on the global market map solar energy, and immediately on a grand scale. Companies International Solar Utilities, Sustainable Equities Group, and PN Solar intend to build solar arrays in this African a country with a total capacity of 600 megawatts – six parks, each 100 megawatt capacity. In addition, they intend to open a factory on the production of solar panels with an annual capacity of 300 megawatt. The idea is that the plant will produce solar panels that can help neighboring countries build solar plants that are now becoming so popular around the world.

Yesterday we received a press release from the Sustainable Equities Group, in which contains detailed plans. And here are some of the most interesting excerpts from this document:

Using the new glass-on-glass technology, PN Solar Ghana will produce 820,000 solar panels PN365 MonoGold Line per year, at its facility in the Ghanaian city Theme that equivalent to an annual production capacity of 300 MW. PNSolar Ghana will hire 300 local workers to build its plant for production in the city of Tema, according to preliminary estimates construction is scheduled to begin in the summer of 2014 and it will continue just over one year. After commissioning, more than 350 workers will be employed year-round. PN SolarGhana will deduct a certain percentage of his profits, for funding initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life and other charitable programs for the local population.

International Solar Utilities will use solar panels manufactured by PN Solar Ghana for the construction of six solar parks, each with a capacity of 100 MW, mentioned above, each of which will cost about 125 million dollars. To build each park, will be created about 200 local jobs. In addition, about 200 unskilled jobs will be created annually for maintenance of these power plants. International Solar Utilities estimates that only they will directly create around 2000 jobs in Ghana, through the construction and operation of these six sunny parks.
