The report of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature and Natural resources say that due to global climate change the level of oxygen in the oceans has decreased to dangerous values. According to experts, since 1950 the level of oxygen in ocean waters fell by 2%, and since 1960 four times increased volume of water, where there is a lack of oxygen. So called hypoxia was noted 60 years ago in 45 places of the World ocean, and by 2011 these places became about 700. However, 50% reduce the amount of oxygen in the upper layers of the oceans directly related to global warming.
Experts predict an increase in water temperature due to burning fossil fuels and draining fertilizer into the ocean with agricultural fields. Ocean surface temperature rise will make it difficult for oxygen to reach its deeper layers. All this will lead to a decrease in oxygen levels of almost 4% by 2100, and in oceans gigantic dead zones arise where for marine organisms will not have any living conditions.
According to scientists, reducing the amount of oxygen in the oceans will lead to the extinction of many species, including marlin, tuna, sharks and swordfish. This situation will negatively affect the lives of millions people whose life depends on fishing.
