Economic inequality between rich and poor countries becoming more noticeable due to climate change. To such experts from Stanford University recently concluded USA.

The experts conducted a large-scale study and determined that global warming, which scientists tirelessly talk about, expectedly a boon for states with a cold climate like Norway and Canada. Meanwhile, countries like India and Bangladesh suffer in recent decades from the economic downturn, caused by an increase in average annual temperature.

The results of this study were recently published in scientific journal “Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences “.

According to the calculations of American researchers, global climate change by 15-30% increased per capita income in rich northern regions and reduced it as much in the poor southern. Thus, the gap between the states with the strongest and the weakest economy today is incomparably larger than he amounted to climate change.

Study authors Noah Diffenbauf and Marshall Burke explain:

We have analyzed the GDP of 165 countries over the past 50 years, comparing it with changes in temperature on Earth. It turned out that in over the past half century, warming has benefited countries with colder climate however slowed significantly economic growth in those countries where it used to be just warm, but now getting really hot. Historical data show that both in terms of health and in terms of economics, it’s easier for a person to live there, where the temperature is most optimal, without unnecessary cold and heat. It turns out that in cold countries like Norway and Sweden, which without poverty, the climate is now much more favorable, which cannot be said of states like India, where the heat manifests itself today more than ever and disastrously.
