Half of all the gold reserves of our planet are concentrated for some reason, in the Vitvatesrand (South Africa) field – almost forty thousand tons. Why exactly here?
Earlier, scientists determined that all this wealth was on the surface of the earth during the erosion of gold-bearing veins of Kaapwalski granite craton. However, the mystery was the fact that is far too far from the Vitvatesrand deposit.
And today it became clear that gold itself did not “do” this a long way by, say, washing out pieces of yellow metal rivers and under the influence of other physical factors. Gold like it does not seem strange to the layman, bacteria formed, or rather – the so-called bacterial mats that “chose” yellow metal from the Witwatersrand ponds.
But given the fact that this happened three billion years ago, when the Earth did not have oxygen, then hope a second “golden stream” is not necessary.
Therefore, scientists recommend that gold prospectors look for traces ancient Precambrian life, and more specifically – shale saturated carbon. It turns out that gold is even in the sewers. Better yet – search for gold on other planets. Or at least on asteroids, flying past our planet.
