On the back of the head of a modern person, a bone outgrowth, which is by no means the notorious horn instructed unfaithful spouse and sung in jokes.

This unexpected feature known as the external occipital tubercle present today in an increasing number of people, especially young ones. It is believed that modern mobile are to blame devices: smartphones, tablets and so on.

I have been working as a doctor for 20 years and recently a decade more and more began to detect in their patients such a build-up on the skull, says medical scientist David Shahar from Sunshine Coast University, Australia. – At first I thought that the modern radioactive background of the planet or the influence of radiation is to blame numerous wireless devices. But everything turned out to be much easier.

The reason for this abnormal growth, as the scientist found out, is not the radiation of cell phones, but the fact that people constantly bend neck at an uncomfortable angle to look at the screens of their mobile devices.

This puts extra pressure on the area where the neck muscles attached to the skull. Forced to adapt, the body creates new bone to help redistribute head weight. As a result a person has a bone spike that can reach 1.4 inches and today is present in forty percent of young people aged from 18 to 30 years. That’s really true: function gives birth to an organ!

Press your fingers to the back of the skull just above the neck. If you feel a small growth, then it is likely that your the body also responded to the use of mobile devices. Describing this phenomenon, Shahar said: when we look at the screen gadget, prolonged stress can cause the body will build a new bone, increasing the surface area, holding head.

Fortunately, reassuring Dr. David Shahar, this new the acquisition of the body is completely harmless. At least in it’s considered right now because serious research on this subject has not been conducted, but what is all this will turn around in the future – no one knows.
