Most recently, The New York Times published misterious story. Resident of the united states due to myeloid bone marrow was transplanted, and four years later showed that donor DNA is present in his semen.
Bone marrow transplant surgery is one of the most common in the treatment of leukemia. Sick cells replace donor, after which the patient normalizes the amount red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets.
American colleagues advised him to take samples for the sake of interest DNA before and after surgery, and then compare them. Samples were taken from different parts of the body, as a result of which it turned out that in lips, cheeks and tongue are the DNA of the patient and the donor.
Four years later, the American also decided to test his sperm, and she, too, was not quite her own, that is, absolutely – DNA wholly owned by the donor.
Experts shrug and cannot explain what actually deed happened. According to them, the American operation bone marrow transplant is not able to force the body produce only cells with donor DNA.
The main version that physicians adhere to is a vasectomy, which a man had previously gone through. Therefore, it is not present in semen genetic material.
