Note that the Chinese bridge created using 3D printing does not the only one in the world and even more so not the first. Something similar before appeared, for example, in Spain and the Netherlands, however, crossing the canal in Shanghai can be called without exaggeration unique. And that’s why.

Opened recently in the city park of Shanghai the bridge, firstly, completed as soon as possible – in just a month. And this is despite the 26 meter long ferry consists of 176 concrete blocks with a total mass of almost 6 tons.

Secondly, in the design and construction of this structure, Chinese experts repeated the arched construction of the most ancient Celestial Bridge, created almost a millennium ago. Moreover, they repeated, thanks to modern technology, with absolute accuracy and reliability, as the authors of the project proudly told reporters of the British magazine Dezeen.

But this is not all: as it turned out, during the construction of Shanghai neither reinforcement nor crate was used, which allowed even in terms of material costs, save the budget by almost a third, not to mention saving time and money in general. Wherein the authors of the project guarantee that their bridge will stand at least thirty years without losing its originality.

In order not to wait so long, making sure in a year the effectiveness and reliability of such a construction, Chinese craftsmen built a monitoring system in their bridge that will allow track concrete deformation and other destructive changes, evaluating them in many ways. If the system shows positive results, the Shanghai bridge builder team is ready start mass construction of such crossings in other places China and beyond – just as quickly, reliably, without fail beautiful and original …
