The French were less fortunate, as two of them did not escape in time. According to Euronews, in the south of France, two people became flood victims. Overflowing mountain rivers flooded a large part of the Var department. The rise in water was so prompt that many did not have time to navigate. Lifeguards local residents are evacuated by helicopter. In safe areas several centers of temporary accommodation are deployed.
