Scientists of the SSC Virology and Biotechnology “Vector” and the Institute Physics of Semiconductors (IFP) named after A.V. Rzhanov of the Siberian Branch RAS are developing a nanobiochip that can provide immunity from one hundred diseases, the director of the SSC “Vector” told reporters on Tuesday Alexander Sergeev. Chairman of the SB RAS, Director of the IPP SB RAS Alexander Aseev noted that this development has good prospects. “It’s about introducing nanotechnology, it’s about nanobiosensors, “he said. In the presence of journalists Sergeyev and Aseev signed an agreement on scientific and technical cooperation between two organizations, – Interfax reported. SSC “Vector” has one of the most comprehensive virus collections in the world, including Ebola, Marburg, SARS, smallpox and others. By order of the government of the Russian Federation, the center was created on the basis of national laboratory for work with especially dangerous – highly pathogenic – influenza viruses. SSC plays the role of coordinator liaising with the World Health Organization on developing an HIV vaccine.
