One-person verification of SMS messages or email through a mobile phone causes a chain reaction – something like yawning. Mobile phones cause massive insanity Researchers from the University of Michigan for several months watched students in cafes on campus and noted with how often do they use their mobile phones. They are found that those students who spent around 20 at the tables minutes, about a quarter of the time was spent on cellular. If any of neighbors got a mobile, the rest spontaneously picked it up gesture – and the use of phones increased up to 40% of the time, spent in a cafe. The reasons for this behavior are quite simple: when a neighbor checks mail, others feel excluded from the circle of friends – and they immediately have a desire to “turn on” back using the same mobile. As scientists write in Human Ethology Bulletin, their observations apply only to youth and may be irrelevant in the case of people not accustomed to the constant use of cell phones – for example, this applies to representatives of the older generation.
