NATO is developing a device that can stop suicide bomber machine before it reaches its goal. IN Norway researchers from Norway demonstrate in their video the effectiveness of their weapons against cars, drones, and even jet skis.
In this technology, a high-intensity electromagnetic beam stops the car, disrupting its control and turning off the engine. In the above video you can see how the beam stops an approaching car in a military roadblock simulator. In a different test, the radiation device is located at the rear of the machine and stops another car approaching from behind.
This beam also works against remotely detonated bombs, drowning out detonation radio signals.
Final tests of the system are scheduled for 2014, and most of the information on this device is not yet available. However, at least one possible difficulty to use The new weapon is quite obvious. In all the demos it applied against a clearly visible target – and turning off the engine does not that car could cause a car accident and endanger lives of civilians.
However, even such an erroneous shutdown is much better. regular situations when cars are at full speed enter the checkpoint, forcing soldiers to make instant decisions – shoot at a potentially dangerous machine in which it can to be a suicide bomber or not.
