Carlo Ratti and his team (Massachusetts Technology Institute) invented the Cloud Cast system, which is personally “cloudy” cools people. Carlo team unveiled its technology this week to the leadership of the United Arab Emirates, where it’s hot all year round, and therefore a tremendous amount of money is spent on conditioning buildings electricity.
And shortly before that, talented inventors developed a similar system, but not cooling, but heating, which, on based on infrared radiation, again warms the space near a person, not the whole room.
High efficiency of such personal climate control suggests the idea that in the future this is how humanity will to spend energy economically and with greater benefit for themselves.
