Scientists from the RIKEN Brain Research Institute have developed unusual computer system that allows you to “manipulate” reality. Demonstrated hardware-software complex consists of a head-worn a helmet with a built-in video camera and display, as well as a control computer that processes data. System allows you to combine live in real time camera image and recordings received and saved earlier. At The resulting image looks very realistic – as if events would happen at the moment before the eyes of the user. Researchers call their development a substitution system reality. Wearing a helmet, a user, for example, can see yourself in the past against the background of the real situation (if any corresponding record). The system is supposed to find application in various interactive complexes and simulators – say car simulators.
