Artificial Intelligence Deep Learning Technologies allowed the American robot “Shimon” to compose independently music and play it on a xylophone, tapping chopsticks with spherical tips on metal plates.
The car was given millions of songs to listen to, ranging from works of classics and ending with modern pop tunes. Having mastered this library, AI, thanks to the efforts of its creators, learned to play music and, ultimately, began to compose his own, unique ringtones.
One of the participants in this experiment is Mason Brittany. from Georgia University of Technology. Specialist it took more than seven years to train the robot to understand music and improvise using sophisticated algorithms. “Shimon” turned out to be surprisingly capable student. Brittany, who is himself an avid musician, reports that the car definitely has its own style in music, like almost every composer. The robot produces various sequences, which are impossible to predict, and gives in his creativity preference for fusion, that is, a mixture of classics and jazz music.
We will clarify that Mason Brittany is engaged in debugging and tuning Shimon, and the author of this miracle invention is Jill Weinberg, which is the head of the department of music technology in Georgia University of Technology. She created this robot, to find out if artificial intelligence is able to compose though would be music pleasant to the human ear. We will not give here evaluation of Jill Weinberg’s efforts, include the following video recording and decide for yourself.
