Despite the fact that global scientists are achieving significant success in cloning and these technologies have great prospects, the artificial production of living organisms is not yet gained in the world of wide distribution.

However, experiments and studies in this field have not second do not stop. This is especially good in People’s Republic of China. So, the China Daily recently published information that local specialists managed to clone 13 piglets using an advanced robot.

The experiment was conducted by Chinese scientists on the territory of Nankai University. Two specially selected sows still underwent in vitro fertilization in April, and after 110 days, 13 piglets were born in the animals. Moreover, the resulting offspring is absolutely healthy and capable of receiving own offspring.

In the course of their work, researchers resorted to the classical therapeutic cloning technology. This method consists in transplanting somatic cell nuclei into “empty” oocytes without cores. However, experts led by Professor Zhao Xin came up with a rather interesting and useful addition to the finished scheme. Scientists enlisted the help of a robotic micromanipulator, which effectively helped them in tests and analyzes, and also independently performed the removal operations cores. The use of artificial intelligence has allowed the authors the project will not only greatly facilitate the process, but also reduce the likelihood of cell damage during surgery. Perhaps it is thanks to this, the procedure went without any complications.

Experts explain that their technology can not be used only in the field of cloning, but also in the role of auxiliary methods for reproductive technologies in practical medicine and agriculture.
