Specialists of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, enlisting the support of experts from Switzerland and the USA, conducted a series of experiments in which an advanced quantum computer “returned to the state of the past.”
Of course, it’s too early to talk about creating a time machine, however achievement of domestic scientists and their foreign colleagues may revolutionize computing, move forward quantum physics and change our understanding of time.

Researchers used a computing device consisting from qubits – the basic units of information that can represent zeros, ones, or something indefinite, located in superposition. Special program “state evolution”, roughly speaking, she scattered qubits in a complex configuration, like balls on pool table, after which quantum discharges in 85% of cases returned to their original position.
If, again, draw an analogy with a pool table, then this it would mean that the balls spontaneously rolled back again going to a perfect triangle. Thus, the authors research has successfully returned quantum information to the state which she had a moment earlier, that is, they started the process, moving in the opposite direction of the thermodynamic axis of time.
