The international group of scientists of the PolarGAP project the other day, as reports Planet Today, has flown around on an airplane a certain territory of Antarctica using radar, penetrating the ice for more than three kilometers.

The source of radiation is unknown to us, it is quite possible that this is how a radioactive rock behaves, which at a depth of three thousands of meters created a hot lake. Does all this affect melting a flyer in Antarctica? Of course, however, this is not important for huge continent. Such processes can go here for millennia and even millions of years, without fundamentally changing anything. Although in the future everything can change as global warming observed on the whole planet, whether you want it or not, it overlaps with this heat source – and for this reason the region can become quite vulnerable to major changes.

Scientists do not disclose the exact location of the identified source powerful radiation, reporting only that this site is 750 kilometers from the coastline of Antarctica. Recall that something similar last year found in the western part of the ice mainland, and in July this year under the Pine Island Glacier glacier an underground volcano allegedly found. All this contributes to the intense melting of ice in Antarctica, which is observed in recent years, although the causes of the most hidden phenomena, like today’s a powerful source of radiation, scientists are not yet known.
