As a result of research, scientists found that if stem cells combine with the cells of the heart muscle, then they are significantly develop and grow better. In the data perspective, the method may be used in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases.

In our modern world, cardiovascular disease are the leading cause of death. Doctors around the world are trying find a way to restore heart muscle and recently discovered the method has now attracted special attention.

Interestingly, recent research has made it clear that the heart has no stem cells. Therefore, scientists drew attention to non-specific stem cells.

The main problem with using stem cells is their a very short life, after introduction to the desired organ.

Cambridge scientists were able to find a solution to this problem by growing muscle cells of the heart with cells of the outer wall – the epicardium. The experiments were carried out on rats, but they have already shown that maintaining epicardial cells really helps stem cells grow faster and create new muscle tissue.

According to scientists, a new method of treating heart disease in the future could be a great alternative heart transplant, and most increase human survival.
