Specialists of the Laboratory of Biorobototechnics Federal Polytechnic School (EPFL) in Swiss Lausanne was designed walking platform that can move on cross-country cat-manners for relatively high speeds for this type of equipment. Prototype a robot called the Cheetah-Cub (“Cheetah Cub”) has a mass about a kilogram and is equipped with four cat-like legs on servos, thanks to which, as they say in EPFL, it moves faster than any analogues weighing less than 30 kilograms. Robosobaka Boston Dynamics BigDog weighing more than one hundred kilograms easily catching up with the Swiss “cat”, if he, of course, does not slip away there, where the “dog” does not crawl through. Cheetah-Cub is planned to be used in research and rescue operations.
