Chinese disabled peasant managed to turn personal unhappiness in a profitable business. He makes bionic prostheses hands. Sun Jifa’s own limbs from the northern province Jilin lost 9 years ago: the explosives for killing fish. Failing to acquire expensive dentures, Sun bought cheap. But they turned out to be practically useless: with their help it was impossible to carry out work on au pair. Not wanting to put a heavy burden on the shoulders of his wife and three daughters, Sun decided to make himself more functional prostheses myself. The farmer made new hands from scratch, having no special knowledge and relying only on their own intuition and ingenuity. Work took 8 years, but the result exceeded all expectations.
The left hand prosthesis transmits momentum from natural movement with an elbow in an artificial finger, allowing to produce exciting and restraining movements. And the right hand can open and close when Sun moves the two remaining bones. So that way, among other things, he can hold a spoon and even light a cigarette. Sun’s ingenuity made him famous. Highly soon, people who also lost limbs began to turn to him with a request to make dentures for them. Sun says: already made about a thousand artificial hands, earning on each for about $ 500. It is 10 times cheaper than prostheses, which offer in most hospitals. But most importantly, according to Chinese, is not money, but the fact that such prostheses return to people self confidence.
