NASA has distributed video of the largest in the last 24 year spots on the sun. According to scientists, during the observation in it there were five outbreaks of the highest class, causing interruptions in the operation of devices on Earth.
NASA astronomers have videotaped a huge solar spots that appeared on the surface of the star in the period from 19 to 27 October. This region is called AR12192.
Sunspots are dark areas on the surface of the body, sometimes observed with the naked eye. They are places exit to the photosphere of powerful magnetic fields, and their temperature approximately 1,500 degrees lower than surrounding areas. The number and size of sun spots is one of the main indicators star activity.
In the presented video, the dark region reached almost 130 thousand kilometers in cross section. She was about the size of Jupiter, or 14 times the size of Earth. According to astronomers, the latter since such a large spot they had to observe only in 1990 year.
