But the most massive eating of people by crocodiles was marked by night from February 19 to February 20, 1945. It happened during the Second World War II.

As you know, on January 14, 1945, the Burmese operation began. called “Matador.” In those days, British troops landed on the island of Rampi in order to capture the airfield and port, which were in the north of this patch of land. The island was guarded by a Japanese garrison, which gradually began to be pushed into the depths of the British army islands.

Until February 19, there were fierce battles, after which the Japanese were forced to flee south, trying to connect with their allies. The British did their best to make their adversary retreat through the sinister mango swamps of Rampi. Mosquitoes, snakes and scorpions, of which there were plenty on the island, will soon appear to the Japanese a mere trifle.
