Another eight years will pass, and in the United States will be built supersonic multi-purpose aircraft that can fly from New York to London in just an hour. Recall that two years ago, the US military experienced X-51 aircraft that moves through the air from five times the speed of sound. Airplane developed since 2004, having spent more than three hundred million on it dollars. During the tests, the X-51 was attached to a strategic bomber and raised to a height of fifteen kilometers. After of this hypersonic plane disconnected and turning on the jet engines, in thirty seconds reached a speed of five thousand three hundred ten kilometers per hour. Unfortunately, the fuel was only enough for a couple minutes of flight, and the X-51 fell into the ocean.
Now the Americans are planning to create a plane that could fly a few hours, not minutes. Separate call for developers has been finding materials that can withstand high temperature during supersonic movement. Moreover, the military will have to develop guidance systems that will allow the aircraft to perform all necessary military tasks.
