For the first time in the history of robotics, scientists managed to teach a robot walk without human intervention. This is reported by the information MIT Technology Review.

According to the publication, only the main ones were downloaded to the robot locomotion skills, having learned in three hours on their own move.

It is known that all methods of training robots directly depend on human participation. It is a person who determines how he will move its creation. However, this time the experimenters developed special algorithm and then left their invention learn how to move yourself.

For about three hours, the robot mastered walking skills – stumbled, fell and rose again, trying to move. With every at once his algorithm analyzed the result and introduced the necessary adjustments. In addition, the robot worked out maneuvers virtually to avoid damage to the structure in reality.

As a result, the robot learned to walk on many types of surfaces – hard, soft, with cracks, etc.
