Reduced sun spots and fewer flares are characteristic signs of a minimum solar cycle. Besides of this, the magnetic field disappeared on the Sun, which is the reason the occurrence of spots and flashes. Attenuation and amplification of magnetic field on the sun occurs every 11 years.
