Toyota introduced its first production model, equipped with a fuel cell power plant. Like previously assumed, the novelty will be called Mirai (translated from Japanese – “The Future”). Photos from open sources
There is no detailed information about the power plant yet. Mirai concept version powered by 136-horsepower electric motor, the energy for which was generated as a result chemical reaction between hydrogen and oxygen. “Exhaust” cars with such power plants is water. Toyota will distribute technical data on the Mirai Commodity Sedan in soon.
It is expected that, as in the case of the future main competitor Mirai, Honda FCV model, declared hydrogen range Toyota sedan is 482 kilometers. Honda production version FCV is due to go on sale in March 2016. Mirai’s sales Japan will begin in April 2015 at a price of about seven million yen (60 thousand 300 dollars). The exact cost will be announced later. Before US and Europe hydrogen sedans will get to the end of summer of the same of the year.
