Walking house

Danish design studio N55 has created a fantastic modular self-contained house that can walk around the city. The walking house consists of a base module equipped with solar panels and small windmills to generate energy.

The house also has tanks for accumulating rainwater, an apparatus for compost and greenhouses for growing vegetables. The house consists made of steel frame, aluminum, wood, glass and polycarbonate. The authors of the project believe that such a walking house will allow people return to a leisurely nomadic life.

The six legs with which the structure moves can walk on almost any surface, applying to urban asphalt and paving stones minimal harm. Thanks to touch sensors, each the foot itself evaluates where to set foot. True, it is worth noting that the house is slow: the maximum speed at which it capable of about 100 meters per hour.
