The zero gravity tower is planned to be created as part of the program “Akademgorodok 2.0”.
According to scientists, it will be a structure about 200 meters high, inside of which a special capsule will be placed, inside of which there will be vacuum created. The metal capsule will be dropped with two hundred meters high, and a condition will arise inside it zero gravity, which will last 10 seconds.
According to scientists, experiments with people will not be made. Exclusively with equipment. Roughly a capsule may accommodate about 300 kg of cargo.
Currently, scientists are exploring zero gravity in space, or on special aircraft that are on a parabolic trajectory make flights. In aircraft, the duration of zero gravity is 20-20 seconds.
A similar tower has been operating since 1989 in Germany (Bremen), but its height is 146 meters. In the Russian Academgorodok this tower will be the first such construction. Design cost this design – about 15 billion rubles.
