Rocky Mountain American Research Organization Institute (RMI) presented its forecast on the fate of the “green” sources of energy.
The forecast says that power generation from renewable sources (sun and wind) in the United States will become more profitable gas by 2035.
Scientists have analyzed the trend of cost reduction in wind and solar electricity generation and compared with cost changes to manage gas stations. According to the data received, the researchers concluded that after 2025, 90% gas power plants will become more expensive than the creation of wind and solar stations of the same power. And after another ten years, gas power plants will not be profitable at all.
At the same time, investing in the construction of gas power plants in the present is ongoing. By 2025, their construction will be invested about $ 70 billion, and $ 30 billion spend on creating gas infrastructure between regions.
In July of this year, it became known that in Germany electricity from green sources (wind, sun, water) has already exceeded the share of energy received at nuclear and coal power plants.
Researchers believe that in the transition to green energy the environmental aspect should also be taken into account, as no one has yet given assessment of the environmental impact of production solar panels and windmills.
Earlier, ESOREITER wrote about a decrease in wind flow by scientists. in the northern hemisphere.
