A usual walk through the Hawking Hills Park
In September 2008 the young couple went all day to journey through the park. This was not their first visit to Hocking. Hills. It was sunny, very pleasant weather. The park has several routes for tourists, mostly they go around waterfalls, caves, and also along a large stream.
At first, says Danny, we went from route to route, then there is simply wandered back and forth, and then chose one and moved on it. However, we soon discovered that the trail was washed out by water and therefore impassable. To go on a different path, we crossed main road. On one side of it stood a tower in the distance rangers with a searchlight on top; she served also fire tower.

The first oddities of the park
It all started around noon. Coming out of the forest, we walked along the trail and suddenly noticed that the fire tower that was visible behind the trees, enveloped in some kind of muddy film. At the same time, we felt in the air has a strange smell, but failed to determine its source and nature. The light from the spotlight on the tower became completely dim, and then a huge number of flies appeared around us.
Commenting on these oddities, we at some point turned onto a path that was not previously known, and went straight along it to the tower rangers, and then to the forest of rare trees. Here we realized that we have not seen people for a long time; there was a strange sensation not just separation from other tourists, but literally isolation from them.
In addition, we suddenly felt very cold. Day as i already said, it turned out to be warm, and we were dressed accordingly lightly, but, Entering the forest of rare trees, we felt a strong cold, from which literally began to tremble. Nevertheless we kept going along the path, and Ciera drew attention to the fact that around is becoming darker and darker.
According to our concepts, we should have long been out of the forest, and he didn’t end in any way. We tried in vain to find at least one landmark, allowing you to understand where, in fact, we are.
There was no mobile communication in the park
Panicked, Siera pulled out her smartphone to check on GPS our location, but the battery suddenly turned out to be completely discharged. My phone was almost in the same condition and reported that mobile communication is not available.
It got even darker, and we all continued on our way. Then we noticed that an unusual silence was added to the darkness and cold. The only sounds that could be heard in the park were sounds of our own steps. All this really scared us.

When we descended from a low hill, the world around us plunged into twilight, and the cold intensified. Finally Frightened, we rushed to the side. Strange that during of our wanderings we never thought about how to turn back.
In general, we ran randomly from the hill to the side and here we saw a couple tall bushes that grew a short distance from each other friend. There was a passage between the bushes, and they themselves were somewhat reminiscent of goal. And as soon as we slipped through these bushes, the world changed again beyond recognition.

Instantly “turned on” the sunlight, blinding us, the cold replaced by summer warmth, and everything was filled with the sound of nature. Imagine that you ran out of a cold and gloomy basement onto warm, brightly lit street! .. It was very similar to ours Feel.
We immediately recognized the place where we found ourselves in such a wonderful way. The area was called the “Old Man’s Cave”, and there are always crowds of people, admiring a large waterfall and a wide stone cliff in the shape of a letter U.
We turned in the direction where we had just run from. Two tall bushes were in place, but now they could be seen lit the sunshine grove …
Our skin was still cold and wet when we took out our smartphones. They worked, and there was a connection, and the clock showed that ours an amazing walk lasted 4 hours!
Of course, we tried to rationally explain our adventure, but were completely confused. Then we several times walked back and forth between the bushes: behind them the sun grove was affectionately noisy – and there was nothing that resembled cold, dark and silent forest. By the way, the path that led us through him, she also disappeared, as if she had never been. Reaching fire tower, we saw a bright spotlight, without any blackout and pungent odor.
We still don’t know where and how we found ourselves in that memorable day, but it was terrible to worry. In the evening, sitting in a restaurant, we still dominated by strong impressions. I’m kidding suggested that we may have fallen into the realm of fairies. But then very seriously added: it’s good that we were allowed to leave from there.
