More convincing seems the argument that more intelligent people in our time is increasingly limited to one child, while … By there’s even a good joke that conveys this idea something like this:

Scientists do not exclude the possibility that humanity in overall reached its ceiling of mental capabilities. So the fall in IQ in modern people as a whole can considered probably as temporary and very encouraging a trend – an indicator that humanity is waiting for big changes …
